UCLA BASKETBALL STAR HOSTS BASKETBALL CAMP FOR COMMUNITY YOUTH

Jaylen Clark (Jrock), a UCLA Bruin Basketball rising junior and Riverside native, hosted a free basketball camp for ages 12-17 on August 27th at Bobby Bonds Park in Riverside. “We hope to teach the underserved youth in Riverside that there are always opportunities for them - success is not achieved by luck or accident, but rather achieved through hard work, discipline, preparation and perseverance,” says Clark. “Regardless of what others say and think, always believe in you, remain positive and keep your dreams in front of you.”

Working in partnership with the Riverside Sports Commission, Camp Rock is positioned to become an annual event following its inaugural camp on August 27. Admission and registration was free for all players with lunch/drinks provided. This was all made possible through fundraised dollars and donations of goods and services through the partnership of Camp Rock, the Riverside Sports Commission, Riverside Parks and Recreation, The Bruin Fan Alliance, and various generous sponsors.
